Breastfeeding in Public Campaign Launches in KFL&A

Kingston, ON – KFL&A Public Health and its community partners are launching a new campaign featuring life-sized cut out images of (local) breastfeeding moms with the goal to normalize and promote social acceptance of breastfeeding anywhere, anytime.

KINGSTON—The Greater Napanee Soccer Club has won KFL&A Public Health's Super Snacks Challenge for having the highest number of teams participate. All participating leagues will receive $100 towards sports equipment:

High levels of radon found in KFL&A

Kingston, ON – KFL&A Public Health has analyzed data showing the results of 1,047 radon tests in homes in Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A). Health Canada recommends radon mitigation for homes tested above 200 becquerels per cubic metre (Bq/m3). Two hundred and twenty-three (21%) homes tested in KFL&A were found to have radon levels above Health Canada’s guideline. A heat health warning has been issued by KFL&A Public Health to advise area health professionals and community service providers of a period of hot and humid weather which may have adverse health effects.
