KFL&A Public Health Releases the Cost of Eating Healthy Report

Kingston - KFL&A Public Health has released the 2018 Cost of Eating Healthy Report. Based on the local results of the Nutritious Food Basket annual survey, the cost to eat healthy in 2018 for a family of four (two adults, two children), is approximately $874 per month. Although a decrease of $14 from the 2017 report, the results strongly demonstrate how vulnerable populations with a fixed or low income have difficulty affording healthy food after accounting for rent and other basic expenses.

KINGSTON—The Frontenac Soccer Association and Greater Napanee Soccer Club have each won a $500 gift card to Canadian Tire to be used towards new soccer equipment for having the highest number of teams participating in KFL&A Public Health's Super Snacks Challenge.
