COVID-19 Assessment Centre Relocates to Kingston Memorial Centre
UPDATE (June 29, 2020) - Please note the COVID-19 Assessment Centre is now located at the Leon's Centre, 1 The Tragically Hip Way, Kingston, Ontario. Hours of Operation Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., statuatory holidays excluded.
In partnership with Primary Health Care, Frontenac Paramedics, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, and the City of Kingston, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre is relocating from Hotel Dieu Hospital (HDH) site to the Kingston Memorial Centre. The newly located, COVID-19 Assessment Centre will begin taking patients on Saturday, March 21. The assessment centre is set up to assess returning travellers, as well as community residents, who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
“The HDH site was the best choice to get an assessment centre up and running quickly in our community,” said Dr. Kieran Moore, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health. “However, with the influx of travellers returning to Canada and more community residents requiring assessment and testing we now require a larger facility to accommodate our communities’ needs.”
Located centrally with access to ample parking, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at the Memorial Centre will operate 7 days a week between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This site will accommodate large numbers of people and still provide enough space to avoid close contact with each other, keeping everyone safe. Large signage will direct people to the main entrance, which is just off York Street.
The COVID-19 Assessment Centre is crucial to enhance appropriate triaging efforts in our community and prevent the existing primary and acute care systems from being overwhelmed.
LOCATION: Kingston Memorial Centre – Well-marked main entrance
303 York Street, Kingston, Ontario

Depending on the spread of the infection in the community, additional COVID-19 Assessment Centre locations and expanded hours of operation will occur to meet the assessment needs in our community.
Please check our website www.Kflaph.ca/Coronavirus as hours of operation may fluctuate based on need. Note this is an assessment centre, and not everyone will be tested.
