Mental health is important to your overall health and well-being. Just like with physical health, there are things you can do to improve your mental health.
Mental health has two parts:
- Mental well-being is how someone feels and functions. This can range from feeling and functioning at your best to feeling and functioning poorly.
- Mental illness are conditions diagnosed by a qualified health professional. These conditions can affect someone's thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
