Food and nutrition services
Community food programs
Fresh vegetables and fruits are accessible through local farms, the Fresh Food Market Pop-up, and the Good Food Box Kingston.
If you are interested in community gardens, visit the Kingston Community Gardens Network, Wolfe Island Community Garden, Indigenous Food Sovereignty Garden, and Greater Napanee Community Gardens.
Emergency food programs such as food banks, community meals, holiday meals, and meals on wheels can be found on Ontario 211.
Dietitian services
Registered dietitians are trained to provide nutrition information. Unlike a nutritionist, a registered dietitian has completed an accredited post-secondary program, supervised practical training, and written a national registration exam. Learn more about dietitians at the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
Ontario residents can access free nutrition information and advice by calling 811 or using Health811’s online chat. Registered dietitians are often part of family health teams, contact your health care provider to see if this option is available for you.
