Safe food handler training
The Ontario Food Premises Regulation 493/17 requires all food premises to have at least one food handler or supervisor with a valid food handler certificate on the premises at all times. Food handler certificates are valid in Ontario for five years.

As per the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, 493/17 section 32, every operator of a food service premise shall ensure that there is at least one food handler or supervisor on the premise who has completed food handler training during every hour in which the premise is operating. KFL&A Public Health has partnered with St. Lawrence College to offer the in-person safe food handler training course. Students become certified food handlers by receiving a minimum score of 70% on the food handler exam, certification is valid for five years. In-person classes will be hosted at St. Lawrence College.
