KFL&A Vaccination Strategy Begins Next Phase
Kingston—With the tremendous support of many partners and stakeholders working together, over 310,000 vaccinations have been administered in the region. In total, vaccine coverage for individuals 12 years of age and older has surpassed 81 per cent first dose, and over 72 per cent are fully vaccinated. To reach the remaining individuals, KFL&A’s vaccination strategy will transition from large vaccination clinics to focus on smaller clinic venues, including mobile teams, pharmacies, and primary care clinics.
“In this next phase, KFL&A Public Health will be expanding its mobile vaccination team operations to increase access to vaccines for those who have experienced barriers in getting to a clinic,” said Dr. Hugh Guan, Associate Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health. “Bringing the vaccine directly to areas in the community that have low vaccine uptake will help support the remaining individuals to get fully vaccinated and increase the protection our community has against COVID-19.”
Along with mobile clinics and pharmacies, the vaccine clinics at Kingston Community Health Centre, Kingston Health Sciences Centre - Beechgrove site, and KFL&A Public Health (Kingston and Napanee offices) are open and will offer vaccinations by appointment or walk-in. For more information on clinic locations, hours, and appointments, visit KFL&A Public Health’s website or call 343-477-0172. Do not delay, get fully vaccinated today!
The following vaccine clinics are now closed- Kingston Health Sciences Centre - Burr Gymnasium, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, INVISTA Centre, and Strathcona Paper Centre.
