Kingston Transit Rider Confirmed Positive for COVID-19
Today, Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health confirms a COVID-19 positive case travelled on Kingston Transit bus routes.
- Saturday, November 6, 2021: Route 16 departing the Kingston Centre transfer point at 12:30 p.m. until arriving at Concession St/Kingscourt Ave. at 12:35 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 9, 2021: Route 1 departing downtown transfer point at 7:50 a.m. until arriving at Division St./First Canada Ave. at 8:10 a.m.
KFL&A Public Health is unable to identify all riders on these routes and is issuing a public notice to assist with contact tracing.
- Get tested for COVID-19 immediately if you were travelling on Route 16 on November 6.
- Get tested for COVID-19 immediately if you were travelling on Route 1 on November 9 and get tested again on November 18.
- Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days after the date of your last exposure (Route 16: November 16 or Route 1: November 19).
- If symptoms develop, self-isolate from others immediately and arrange for testing at the COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre.
If you are not fully vaccinated (more 14 days from receiving your second dose of COVID-19 vaccine) and travelled on the routes and times listed, we recommend that you isolate at home and call KFL&A Public Health for further direction.
If you are fully vaccinated, no isolation is required.
